SOYL Newsletter June 2014
1. Cereals success
Thank you to all the growers that visited the SOYL team at Cereals. With stands both in the Frontier marquee and in precision alley, there was lots of interest in the services we were demonstrating. Highlights included:
The patented SOYL autodepth system
SOYLsight, the UAV technology used to identify crop performance issues
MySOYL, the web-based tool for accessing and managing precision crop data quickly and easily
SOYLsense, the UK’s number one variable rate nitrogen service.
We were also extremely pleased when our GPS alley stand was awarded runner up for 'best small stand in show'!
2. CLAAS yield mapping support
As the official precision farming partner for CLAAS UK, SOYL offers training and support to customers using yield mapping.
Purchases of new CLAAS combines for the coming season include a year’s software support. SOYL will make contact with customers in order to arrange software installation and training. Existing CLAAS yield mappers can also benefit from SOYL’s support service for a small annual charge.
SOYL can demonstrate how your yield map data can be used with Performance Mapping in a number of ways, including:
Bespoke soil sampling design
Fine tuning of P and K recommendations
Multi-year yield trend maps.
More information will be shared in the next few weeks which will include details of how to take up the service. Alternatively contact the SOYL office on 01635 204190.
3. MySOYL training for SOYLseed users
To ensure growers are getting the most out of the tools available, all SOYLseed users will be invited to a one to one online MySOYL training session this month, which will have a particular focus on seed rate calculations. With the drilling season not far away, this easy to use self serve feature within mySOYL can really bring benefits to businesses.
