Revolutionary app updated to bring even more benefits
SOYL has updated its precision farming app to bring even more benefits to growers.
iSOYL, first launched in November 2014, is an iPad app that streamlines the variable rate application process. The first of its kind, it is compatible with most popular controllers and connected using a smart cable. Application files are transferred seamlessly between field and office and back again as an ‘as applied’ record for crop recording systems.
The update brings more features to simplify precision crop production tasks. The biggest of these is the new ability to view all tasks as an overview map, from a local level of one farm to a wider view across many farms, and select applications from that map, as well as a file list. Options are available to select a map overview of all farms or to filter them on an individual basis. iSoyl’s easy to use interface then allows the grower to simply tap the required field and see all the tasks available for that field.
Tom Parker, business development manager, explains, “This is a really convenient way to be able to check that all your data is there before setting out to work and for contractors and farmers to be able to see the whole job as a map. It allows larger datasets to be viewed graphically as opposed to a long list of filenames and the user can also select related tasks from the individual application map to see what else has been assigned to that field.”
Other new features include extra help screens and a tour of the app to show growers how to get the most out of the technology to the benefit of their business.
This is in addition to the original features which allow users to amend application rates on the move and add their own points of interest to fields, such as weed populations or crop variation, by simply dropping a pin on the relevant area and recording a note.
Existing users can download the new app as a free upgrade, with any stored date transferring automatically.
The updated app is available now on the Apple App Store. Visit iTunes to download or www.isoyl.com for more information.
