SOYL app innovation recognised by a global audience
iSOYL, SOYL’s precision farming app for the iPad, has been named as one of this year’s ‘FinOvation Honourees’ by global news site Farm Industry News.
iSOYL, launched in November 2014, is a pioneering system enabling growers to easily manage and control all their precision farming application tasks directly from a tractor cab using an app on the iPad. The app enables easy transfer of data to and from the cab and the farm office. iSOYL uses a smart cable to connect the iPad with all popular makes of farm spreader, sprayer and drill. The full colour display on the iPad makes application maps clear and very easy to navigate.
FinOvation honourees were selected based on reader interest in features related to new products launched between November 2014 and October 2015. iSOYL for iPad is one of just 21 agricultural innovations worldwide to receive this recognition this year.
Simon Parrington, SOYL commercial director said: “We’re proud of SOYL’s record of leading the way with precision farming in the UK with a string of ‘first to market’ innovations since 1993. We’re delighted when tools that we developed are recognised like this.
“iSOYL was created in response to feedback from growers that they wanted to communicate information between the office and the cab better. The app can make a real difference if you are in the tractor cab amending application files on the move or dropping markers to record a point of interest in a particular field for future reference. There’s no need to wait until you return to the office to update records, it can all be done in the cab, on the go, potentially saving time and costs and improving the accuracy of record keeping relating to individual fields.”
